Racer Athletics Unveils Social Media Rewards Program

With basketball season underway, Murray State fans now have a new way to connect and support their Racers. Partnering with Row27, Racer Athletics unveiled the Racer Rewards program; a social media rewards program based on sharing Murray State Athletic Department information.
Fans can register for free at www.racerrewards.com to earn points for sharing and liking Murray State Athletics Facebook posts, images and videos; retweeting MSU Athletics tweets; tweeting with official hashtags; and/or checking in to Murray State facilities on Foursquare and GetGlue. Additionally, Stampede members, students, and alumni will receive points for attending home games.
"As technology evolves, so does the fan experience at athletic events" commented Morris White, Director of Marketing and Promotions. "We wanted to capitalize on the usage of social media at our games and believe the Racer Rewards program will allow us to do just that."
Accumulated points will give fans the ability to win prizes through redemption opportunities as certain point levels are surpassed. New prizes may be added as the year continues. There will also be two grand prizes (one for Stampede members and one for non-Stampede members) that will be given away at the end of the year to the highest earners. The Stampede grand prize will be an iPad, and the non-Stampede prize will be portable basketball goal. Non-Stampede members are classified as Murray State students, alumni, and non-students.
“This type of interaction with our fans should help broaden the scope of the Racer athletics brand and increase our reach on these social media platforms” said White.

Racer fans can also look forward to uploading pictures either directly from their cell phones or via email to Racer Vision while at games. CrowdCameo is a platform that allows fans to share photos on game day. Go to http://racers.crowdcameo.com to add and vote on your favorite Racer pictures.
