Soccer Announces 2012 Signing Class

Head coach Beth Acreman announced Monday afternoon the addition of seven players to Murray State soccer's 2012 roster. MSU's additions for next season include five incoming freshman and two collegiate transfers.

"I am really excited about this signing class," Acreman noted. "We have a great mix of players both age wise and positionally. I know they are going to work hard heading into their first season as new Racers. We have a lot to accomplish next season and we will demand a championship mentality from both our new and existing players. Our existing players have already been working hard this spring to lay a foundation for this signing class and I know they are ready to get the new players on board to win another championship here at Murray State. I can't wait to get them on campus!"

Megg Hudson Murray, KY. MF/F (KY All-State)

Hudson played for Murray High School where she is the school's all-time leading scorer. Murray High School was regional champions in 2010 and 2011 and went on to reach the\ Elite 8 in 2010. She scored 44 goals with 14 assists during her senior season leading to a 1st Team All-State selection as well as being 1st Regions tournament MVP. Plays club soccer with Kentucky Revolution. Parents: Dan and Suzanne Hudson.

Taylor Stevens Fort Wayne, IN. MF/F (IN All-State)

Stevens played for Fort Wayne Snider High School where she was named All-State her senior year. Snider is ranked 5th in Indiana girls soccer programs. Selected for Super Y National ODP program. Plays club soccer for Fort Wayne Fever 94 Black. Parents: Doug and Andi Stevens.

Halle Pinkham Elizabethtown, KY. D (KY All-State)

Pinkham played for Elizabethtown High School where she was named All-State 2nd team for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. She helped lead the Lady Panthers to three district tournament titles (2008, '09, and '11) and back-to-back state tournament appearances in 2008-09. Halle was also awarded Area Defensive Player of the Year in 2011. Plays club soccer for State Cup Champions Mockingbird 94 Premier. Parents: Bill and Becky Pinkham.

Kayla Harbin Arlington, TN. D/MF/F (TN All-State)

Harbin played for Bolton High School where she was Region 7 Offensive Player of the Year in 2010 as well as a Div I AAA All-State selection after scoring 30 goals in the season. Kayla was selected for Best of Preps her junior year and became team captain for the 2011 season. Played club soccer for Midsouth Futbol Club. Member of the National Honor Society. Parents: Scott and Jenny Harbin.

Jenna Finke Indianapolis, IN. MF/F

Finke played for Lutheran High School where she was team's leader in both goals an assists. Scored 17 goals during her senior year and was first team All Marion County. Plays Super Y and club soccer for Fort Wayne Fever. Parents: Walter and Kim Finke.

Tory Pitts Brentwood, TN. MF/F (Arkansas State)

Pitts is a transfer from Arkansas State University and has already joined the Racers in Jan 2012. Played two full seasons with the Red Wolves and scored 10 goals during her career there. Played club soccer with 9 time State Cup Champions Stones River Strikers. Was named All-State 1st Team with Franklin Road Academy leading them to a State Championship in 2007 and the finals in 2008. Parents: Howard and Vanessa Pitts.

Rebecca Bjorkvall Aland, Finland D/MF (Lindsey Wilson)

Bjorkvall is a transfer from Lindsey Wilson University and has already joined the Racers in Jan 2012. She played 2 seasons with the Blue Raiders and scored 7 goals during her 2009 season where the team was ranked #3 in the NAIA National Poll. Played for Aland Lyceum High School. Parents: Per-Ake and Lisa-Lotte Bjorkvall.
