MSU Women's Golf Takes 4th At Southern Miss

The Murray State women's golf had a fourth place showing in a field of 14 teams at the Lady Eagle Invitational hosted by Southern Miss in Hattiesburg.
Delaney Howson led MSU with a third place finish in a field of 78 players with scores of 74-73=147. Morgan Cross and Alexandra Lennartsson shared 21st place. Cross had rounds of 77-81=158 and Lennartsson carded scores of 81-77=158. Alli Weaver placed 34th with scores of 80-82=162 and Sophie Olley was 37th with scores of 77-86=163.
The Racers had team scores of 308-313=621 to finish behind third place Jacksonville State by only one shot. Troy was the winner with a total of 609 and host USM placed second at 618.
The rest of the top-10 was made up by Oklahoma City (623), South Alabama (628), Redlands (630), UAB (633), Belmont (647) and Texas-Pan Am (660).
MSU's Gina Nuzzo played the event as an individual and placed 46th with scores of 82-85=167.
The next challenge for the Racers is the Morehead State Ocala Spring Collegiate Invitationalstarting Sunday at Juliette Falls Golf Club in Ocala, Fla.
