Murray State kicks off its 2012 home season this weekend in a series of teams with unblemished OVC records, hosting Jacksonville State in a three-game set. SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE
The reigning OVC Champions have gotten into a groove as of late, winning their last four after dropping nine of their first 10 games to start the season. The Gamecocks picked up a 13-6 win Thursday night at Georgia Tech and are coming off of a three-game sweep against Eastern Illinois that opened the OVC schedule.
Shelby Holley has been the driving force on offense for JSU, leading the team with 20 RBI and the OVC with11 home runs in just 22 games. As a team, they hold a slight 108-107 run advantage but have hit a staggering 27 home runs to their opponents 12.
Jacksonville State has been boosted by the return of Tiffany Harbin to the circle. The sophomore pitcher missed the beginning of the season due to injury but has won her last three starts, including Thursday's game against Georgia Tech.
