Racer Golf Shares Lead In Ocala Event

The Murray State women's golf squad has a share of the lead after one round of the Morehead State Ocala Spring Invitational at Juliette Falls Golf Club in Ocala, Fla.
MSU's 293 in the field of nine teams was tied with Appalachian State for the lead, four shots ahead of Morehead State (297) and six shots up on Stetson and Jacksonville State (299). Florida Atlantic (312) was in sixth place.
Alexandra Lennartsson led MSU with a 2-under-par 70 in round one and was in fifth place in the field of 54 competitors. Delaney Howson's 1-under-par 70 was good for a spot in sixth place. Morgan Cross was in 10th place after a 73. Alli Weaver had a spot in 25th with a 79 and Sophie Olley was in 30th with an 80.
The Juliette Falls course is playing to a par of 72 and 6,089 yards.
MSU's Gina Nuzzo is playing the event as an individual and was in 44th place with an 84.
McNeese State (316), Ohio (316) and Western Kentucky (317) rounded out the field.
The second round of the event is being played Monday morning.
