Lennartsson Leads Racer Charge At GSU Event

Murray State's Alexandra Lennartsson fired rounds of 70-74=144 to grab a fifth place spot in a field of 63 competitors Monday at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate in Strockbridge, Ga., at Eagles Landing Country Club.
As a team, the MSU women's golf squad had a spot in eighth place after 36-holes of the 54-hole event with scores of 299-304=603 which was four shots behind seventh place Furman at 599. MSU led Georgia State (608), Nova Southeastern (629) and Daytona College (632).
Other MSU scores included: Delaney Howson who was in 17th place with scores of 74-74=148, while Morgan Cross was in 21st place with rounds of 74-77=151. Alli Weaver's scores of 81-79=160 made for a spot in 48th place, while Sophie Olley was in 58th place with scores of 90-83=173.
East Tennessee vaulted from third into first place in the field of 11 teams with a team scored of 585. Maryland (588), Mississippi State (592), Campebell (592) and Western Carolina (597) made up the top-5 teams.
MSU's Gina Nuzzo is playing the event as an individual and was in 56th place with scores of 84-81=165.
The course at Eagles Landing is playing to a par of 72 and 6,047 yards.
The event hosted by Georgia State, finishes with the final 18 holes at 8 a.m. CT Tuesday.
