Shuemaker Named adidas OVC Pitcher of the Week

Senior left hander Luke Shuemaker threw nine shutout innings of relief over two games last week, and for his efforts, he was named the adidas Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Shuemaker (Paducah, Ky.) continued his dominance on the mound this season as he struck out four hitters over the final three innings to earn the save in the victory over WKU. Just three days later, Shuemaker came out of the bullpen again to shut Central Arkansas down over six innings. He allowed five hits, while setting a new career high with nine strikeouts.
On the season, Shuemaker is 0-0 with a 0.49 ERA and two saves. He has thrown 18.1 innings in his six relief appearances. He has allowed one earned run on 15 hits and 19 strikeouts.
