MSU Women's Golf Takes Second At Racer Classic

The Murray State women's golf team brought home a second place finish at the NewWave Communications Racer Classic Monday at Miller Memorial GC in Murray, Ky.
The Racers pieced together a second round 316 after a first round 320 to finish with a 636 total, behind champion Drury University who had scores of 321-307=628. Southern Illinois took third at 642, while Marshall (650) and Eastern Kentucky (650) made up the top-5. Lipscomb (701), Jackson State (705) and Tennessee State (748) rounded out the field.
Delaney Howson and Morgan Cross were named to the all-tournament team. Howson led MSU with a second place finish after rounds of 79-73=152, while Cross was third with scores of 81-76=157. Alexandra Leennartsson was 15th after rounds of 80-83=163, while Alli Weaver took 17th place with scores of 80-84=164. Sophie Olley finished 22nd in the field of 51 players with rounds of 83-84=167.
MSU's Gina Nuzzo played the event as an individual and had scores of 87-82=169 for a 27th place showing, while Madolyn Parker finished 47th with scores of 105=-94=199.
Next up for Murray State is the Southern Mississippi Lady Eagle Invitational(March 12-13) at Hattiesburg Country Club.
