Castile Named OVC adidas Softball Player of the Week

Murray State center fielder Casey Castile has been named OVC adidas Player of the Week for April 23-29.
Castile led the Racers with a .600 batting average in seven games, hitting three home runs with nine RBIs and eight runs scored.
She was 3-3 in a 10-1 win against Bethel, driving in a pair of runs and hitting a solo fourth inning home run. She homered in the next game, providing the only run with a fourth inning home run in a 1-0 win against Samford.
She finished the first game against Southeast Missouri 2-3 at the plate, driving in the game-winning runs to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth in the 3-1 win.
Casey drove in two more Sunday afternoon, homering once again in the fourth inning and doubling in the bottom of the seventh to drive in a run as the Racers scored five in the final inning to win 8-7.
Castile leads the Racers with nine home runs and 40 RBI through 45 games this season.
She is the third MSU student-athlete to be named OVC player of the week in a row, following Chelsey Sullivan two weeks ago and Alexa Becker last week.
