Racers Begin Play At Ole Miss Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team began play Friday at the Ole Miss Intercollegiate at the University Club in Oxford, Miss.
MSU's Delaney Howson led the way with a first round 75 which was good for a spot in 19th place in a field of 87 players. Alli Weaver carded a 77 for a spot in 39th place, while Alexandra Lennartsson was in 55th place with a 79. Morgan Cross had an 81 and was in 71st place, with Gina Nuzzo in 82nd place after an 84.
Sophie Olley is playing the event as an individual for MSU and was in 55th place after a 79.
MSU's first round 312 had them in 13th place head of Rollins (317) and Miami(FL) (318). The Racers trailed 12th place Memphis (311) and 11th place Maryland (308).
The leader wasa the host team, Mississippi with a score of 292, while Baylor (292), Mizzouri (298), Tulsa (302), Southern Mississippi (303), Harvard (304), Minnesota (306), Mississippi State (306), Kansas State (306) and Redlands (307) made up the top-10.
Round two of the 54-hole event begins Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with teams starting at the first and the ninth holes. The Ole Miss course is playing to a par of 72 and 6,313 yards.
