Racers Geared Up For 2012 OVC Track & Field Championships

Murray State track and field is ready to put an entire season of preparation into action this weekend at the 2012 OVC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Southeast Missouri at the Abe Stuber Track and Field Complex in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

The Racers have had a number of strong individual performances this season, including Alexis Love's seven total wins this season between the 100m and 200m in all eight times she has run the two events in 2012.
Tonia Pratt comes into this weekend ranked first in the OVC in both the discus and hammer, and is second in the conference in the shot put. She shattered the school record in the hammer throw, tossing 53.33m at the Hilltopper Relays.
Sharda Bettis sits in second this season in the conference in the 100m hurdles, running a season-best time of 14.16 at the Shamrock Invitational.
