June 29 Update
Former MSU player Jessica Grace won the 1st flight consolation championship with a win in 20 holes over Olivia Parrott.
June 28 Update
Two Racers (one former and one current) met in the semifinals of the 1st flight at Elizabethtown Country Club. This time it was the veteran and former Kentucky Women's Am champ, Jessica Grace who scored a 3&2 win over Gina Nuzzo. Grace is the final Racer in the competition and will face Olivia Parrott for the title Friday morning at 7:16 a.m.
June 27 Update
Abbi Stamper lost 1-up in the championship flight consolation quarterfinals to Becky Sharpe.
Jessica Grace won her 1st flight consolation match with Dennise Mudd by an 8&6 score. She advances to the semifinals where she will meet fellow Racer Gina Nuzzo who knocked off Marsha Bordas 1-up. Grace and Nuzzo meet Thursday at 8:44 a.m.
June 26 Update
Abbi Stamper lost her first round match in the championship bracket 5&4 to Kim Harlage. Stamper will face Becky Sharpe Wednesday at 9:08 A.m. CT in a consolation match.
Gina Nuzzo and Jessica Grace both played in the 1st flight and lost their first matches.
Nuzzo lost 2&1 to Karen Puckett and will play Marsha Bordas in a consolation match Wednesday at 8:28 a.m. CT.
Grace lost her match 4&3 to Griffin Glasscock and wil play Dennise Mudd Wednesday at 8:20 a.m. in a consolation match.
Pre-Tournament
Two current Murray State women's golfers and one former player are competing this week in the 86th Kentucky Women's Amateur at Elizabethtown, Ky., and Elizabethtown Country Club.
Incoming freshman Abbi Stamper (Frankfort) made the championship bracket by carding a 77 in the 18-qualifying round that sets the match play brackets for the week. Stamper (Frankfort) is set to face Kim Hartlage at 10:12 a.m. CT Tuesday.
Returning Racer sophomore Gina Nuzzo (Louisville) had an 82 and was placed in the 1st flight where she will face Karen Puckett at 8:52 a.m.
Grace (Henderson), a former champion in the event and a member of the Murray State Athletics Hall of Fame fired an 85 and will play Griffin Glasscock at 8:44 a.m. CT also in the 1st flight of the event.
There is a field of 64 players divided into three flights.
