Baseball Wins OVC Team Academic Achievement Award

The Murray Sate baseball team was awarded the Ohio Valley Conference Team Academic Achievement Award for the 2011-2012 academic year.
The award is presented annually in each Conference-sponsored sport to the member institution's team with the greatest percentage of its eligible student-athletes who achieved a 3.25 grade point average or higher.
“I am proud the hard work our players do in the classroom is acknowledged by the OVC Team Academic Achievement Award,” said head coach Rob McDonald. “This award is also a reflection of the great work our athletic academic staff does.”
The Breds had 17 members with a grade point average above 3.25, including Tyler Beeers and Paul Ritzheimer with a perfect 4.00 GPA. Both of those players were honored with the Medal of Honor, the highest academic honor awarded by the OVC.
The players who reached the qualifying GPA were also named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
