Racers Rally At Mississippi State For Fifth Place Finish

Murray State women's golf finished the Mississippi State Intercollegiate with their best round of the 54-hole event with a final round 294 to finish tied for fifth at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.
The Racers carded scores of 302-312-294=912 and finished behind fourth place and host Mississippi State at 898. Kentucky won the event at 878, while Tulane (880) and Arkansas (882) made up the top-3.
Alexandra Lennartsson fired a final round 70 to gain a seventh place finish. Her rounds were 74-75-70=219. Delaney Howson placed 10th after she had scores of 72-75-74=221, while Alli Weaver was in 42nd place with rounds of 80-81-76=237. Abbi Stamper finished in 45th place with scores of 76-88-74=238, while Sophie Hillier placed 55th with rounds of 84-85-83=252.
The Racers shared fifth place with Southern Mississippi at 912.
The rest of the field was made up by Kennesaw State (915), South Florida (917), Cincinnati (918), Memphis (933) and South Alabama (962).
Gina Nuzzo played as an individual for the Racers and placed 58th with scores of 90-85-82=257.
Tulane's Gemma Dryburgh was the medalist with rounds of 69-70-69=208.
The Racers get back on the course Monday (Sep. 17) when they host the Drake Creek Invitational in Ledbetter, Ky.
