Murray State has swept the soccer Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week awards announced on Tuesday. Veronika Pribyslavska (Prague, Czech Republic), Halle Pinkham (Elizabethtown, Ky.) and Latesha Stevenson (Benton, Ky.) took home offensive, defensive and goalkeeper honors, respectively for their performances over the weekend.
Pribyslavska recorded just the 9th hat trick in school history on Friday in the Racers' 5-0 victory over Alabama A&M. The goals were Pribyslavska's 2nd, 3rd and 4th of the season. She also led MSU with 12 shots overall during the weekend, including six on goal.
Pinkham led a Racer defense that posted two shutouts over the weekend, allowed just one shot against Alabama A&M and seven total corners over the weekend. Pinkham also played all 190 minutes for Murray State in the two matches.
Stevenson recorded the first two wins and shutouts of her career over the weekend. Stevenson recorded a career-high seven saves in the Racers' 1-0 overtime win over South Alabama on Sunday. Stevenson was also making the first two starts of her career in the two victories.
This is the first time since September of 2010 that one school has swept all three Player of the Week awards. Eastern Kentucky won all three on Sept. 28 of that year.
Taylor Stevens (Fort Wayne, Ind.) was also named the College Sports Madness' OVC Player of the Week. Stevens had the game-winning goal with 1.3 seconds left in the first overtime in Murray State's 1-0 win over USA.
MSU begins conference play this weekend as the Racers travel to Clarksville, Tenn., to face Austin Peay in a 2 p.m. match on Sunday.
