Round Two Comes to a Close at the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational

The Murray State women's golf team finished Tuesday's second round of the Old Waverly Bulldog Invitational in Starkville, Miss., at Old Waverly Golf Club in 10th  place.
Leading the Racers at the end of the round was senior Delaney Howson who carded scores of 73-76=149 to finish 5-over-par for 19th place.
In 35th place, Minta Yin had scores of 75-79=154, while Sydney Trimble carded 78-77=155 for a 36th place finish at the end of the round. Other Murray State scores included Jackie Van Meter, who after two rounds of 81, sits tied for 50th place with an overall score of 162. Rounding out the playing field for the Racers was Sophie Hillier who carded 82-81=163 for 52nd place.
The Racers had scores of 307-313=620 for the 10th  place spot in a field of 11 teams. Leading the tournament at the end of the round was host school Mississippi State with an impressive 569, 7-under-par. Tallying a score of 579 was East Carolina for a second place finish at the end of the day. Other team scores included Florida International and Georgia State (591), East Tennessee State (594), South Alabama (602), Memphis (613), Cincinnati (617) and South Florida (618). Finishing behind the Racers with a score of 645 was Southern Mississippi.
The third round at Old Waverly will tee-off at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.Â
