The Murray State University men's golf team competed in two rounds of the F&M APSU Intercollegiate at The Links in Hopkinsville, Ky. The Racers ended the day in 10th place with rounds of 291-299=590.
Leading the tournament at the end of the day was Belmont with scores of 278-277=555. In second was Eastern Kentucky who carded scores of 286-272=558 while Austin Peay held third with scores of 285-281=566.
After two rounds, Preston French lead the Racers with rounds of 74-70=144 to finish the day tied for 24th place. Jordan Smith carded scores of 72-75=147 for 39th place while Jared Gosser shots rounds of 70-79=149 for 49th place. Rounding out the field for the Racers and tied for 51st place were Duncan McCormick and Chasten Howard after each carded rounds of 75-77=152.
In individual play, Matt Zakutney and T.J. Ferry finished the day tied for 39th after rounds of 72-75-147 and 74-73=147 respectively. Brock Simmons carded scores of 77-71=148 to finish the second round tied for 46th place.
Other team scores include Southern Illinois (567), Tennessee-Martin (568), Lipscomb (575), South Dakota (585), Western Kentucky (585), Eastern Illinois (592), Austin Peay B (594), Morehead (594), and Tennessee State (598).
