Howson Earns OVC Golfer of the Week Honor

Murray State senior Delaney Howson was named the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office in Brentwood, Tenn. This is the second time this season that Howson has earned the honor.

Howson set  new school records in scoring mark of 140 and lowest round of 66 to win the medalist honor at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate at the Clarksville Country Club in Clarksville, Tenn.

Howson claimed her second medalist honors of the season in topping the 83-player field. The senior fired rounds of 66-74 to finish at 140 (-4) and best the field by three shots. Her first round score of 66 tied the tournament low record. Her play helped Murray State to a second place finish at the event which included nine total OVC teams. Howson now leads the OVC in stroke average (71.8) through 11 rounds this season.

This honor marks the sixth time Howson has been named OVC Golfer of the Week.

Howson and the Racers will enjoy a short break before competing at the Old Fort Golf Course for the Blue Raider Invitational (Oct. 21-22) in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
