OVC Release I French Wins Murray State Invitational

Murray State sophomore Preston French was named the Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office in Brentwood, Tenn.

French carded rounds of 69-68-70 to finish at 207 (-6) and take medalist honors at the 10th Annual Murray State Invitational held at the Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray.

French led the field of 81 competitors by three strokes and helped Murray State to a fourth place team finish. The field included six total OVC teams.

French led the field with 13 birdies and became just the third MSU player to win medalist honors at the tournament.

French is the second Racer this season to be honored as OVC Golfer of the Week, Jordan Smith achieved the award last week (Sept. 25).

French and the Racers will compete again at the 7^th Annual Skyhawk Classic hosted by UT Martin at Paris Landing State Park in Paris, Tenn. (Oct. 7-9).
