Baseball Announces 2014 Schedule

A 12-game homestand to start the season, and a game against Kentucky at Brooks Stadium highlight the 2014 Murray State baseball schedule that was released Monday.
The Breds open the season Feb. 14-16 as they host to defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Illinois State. The season-opening homestand continues with a pair of midweek games against Mid-Continent (Feb. 18 and Feb. 26), as well as weekend series against 2013 NCAA Tournament participant Bowling Green (Feb. 21-23) and North Dakota State (Feb. 28-March 2).
MSU will hit the road for the first time when they travel to face 2013 NCAA Tournament participant Saint Louis on March 5-6. The Breds return to Reagan Field on March 7-9, opening Ohio Valley Conference action against Morehead State.
The rest of the month of March features conference matchups at UT Martin (March 14-16), home against SIU Edwardsville (March 21-23) and at Austin Peay (March 28-30). MSU will also play non-conference games against Arkansas State (March 11), at Memphis (March 18) and against Southern Illinois (March 25).
The Breds open the month of April on the road at Southern Illinois, before hosting Eastern Illinois on April 4-6. MSU will then play eight of its next nine games on the road, with the only home game coming against Evansville on April 15.
MSU travels for a midweek game at Ole Miss on April 9, and continues the road trip at Jacksonville State (April 11-13). The Breds will spend Easter weekend at Ohio State (April 18-20), and close out the stretch with a game at Evansville on April 22.
The Breds return to Reagan Field to host Tennessee Tech on April 25-27. They then hit the road for games at Arkansas State (April 29) and Southeast Missouri (May 2-4). MSU plays it final home conference series against Belmont on May 9-11, before playing host to Kentucky on May 13 at Brooks Stadium. MSU wraps up the regular season on May 15-17 at Eastern Kentucky.
The 2014 OVC Baseball Tournament will be played at The Ballpark at Jackson on May 21-25.
