Racers Compete in Blue Raider Invitational

RESULTS
The Murray State University women's golf team competed in rounds one and two of the Blue Raider Invitational yesterday (Oct 21) at the Old Fort Golf Course in Murfreesboro, Tenn. At the end of the first day the Racers were in eighth place in the field of 15 with scores of 302-309=611.

Senior Delaney Howson tied for 11th place to lead the Racers after shooting rounds of 72-77=149. Sydney Trimble fired rounds of 74-76=150 for an 18th place finish while Jackie Van Meter carded rounds of 76-77=153 to end the day tied for 34th place. Minta Yin had scores of 82-79=161 for a 66th place finish at the end of the first two rounds while Gina Nuzzo rounded out the field in 78th place with scores of 80-86=166.

In individual play, Sophie Hiller shot rounds of 81-81=162 to end the day tied for 68th place.

Southern Illinois leads the field of 15 teams, which includes five OVC schools, with scores of 298-295=593. Jacksonville and Lamar University finished the first two rounds with scores of 596 to tie for second.

Other team scores include Morehead State (599), Middle Tennessee (600), South Alabama (601), Troy University (605), Tennessee Tech (613), Arkansas State (614), UALR (618), UMKC (620), Belmont (622), Austin Peay (633) and Texas El Paso (635).

The Old Fort Golf Course is playing to a par of 72 and 6,177 yards.

The Racers will compete in the third and final round Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m.Â
