Navy-Gold World Series Set to Begin Friday

NAVY-GOLD ROSTERS

Murray State baseball will play its annual Navy-Gold World Series beginning Friday afternoon at Reagan Field. The three-game series will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, and continue with a 1:30 p.m. first pitch Saturday and a 1 p.m. start on Sunday.

The roster is divided into two teams. Assistant coach Dan Skirka will run the offense, while assistant coach Larry Scully will run the defense.

A pair of seniors will take the mound in the series opener as senior Cashtyn DeLeeuw will take the mound for The Golden Boys, while fellow senior Cameron Finch will toe the rubber for The Navy Train.

Saturday's pitching matchup features right hander Andrew Bramley vs. right hander Cody Maerz. Sunday's game will showcase left hander Brock Downey against right hander Brandon Hicks.

The series will wrap up the Fall for the Breds. The team will open the 2014 season on Feb. 14 with a three-game series against Illinois State at Reagan Field.
