A ceremonial ground breaking was held (Oct. 29) when Murray State Athletics celebrated the coming start of the first phase of improvements for Reagan Field in Murray, Ky.
The home of Murray State Baseball, Reagan Field will soon see the construction of a grandstand behind home plate. The grandstand will blend with the current terraced seating and include 550 seats. The seating has 238 chair back seats, 300 bleacher seats and 12 handicap seats.
The delegation of those who turned the first shovels of dirt included: Murray State President Dr. Tim Miller, Director of Athletics Allen Ward, Head Baseball Coach Rob McDonald, Dr. John Yates, former head coach and MSU Hall of Famer Johnny Reagan and Dr. Bob Jackson, President of the MSU Foundation.
The grandstand is part of a phased renovation plan for Reagan Field. As fundraising goals are met, future renovations will include:Â stadium lighting; a new press box and an indoor practice facility.
Toadvine Enterprises of Louisville is in charge of the project with Dant Clayton as the manufacturer of the seating.
The current location of Reagan Field has been the home of Murray State Baseball since 1989.
