Milkman Adds Three to 2014-15 Roster

Head Coach Velvet Milkman of the Murray State University women's golf team signed three new members to the Racer family for the 2014-15 season. Moa Folke of Tanas, Sweden, Anna Moore of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Murray native Summer Simmons all signed letters of intent with Coach Milkman last week.

"I am very excited about our 2014 recruiting class because each player adds depth to our team," said Coach Milkman. "Moa is a talented player that has played in some very good international competition, which will help add playing experience to our young team. Anna and Summer are both exceptionally long and very good ball strikers. They both play other sports and once they focus their attention only on golf they will both improve very quickly. These three golfers are very talented with high upside potential. They are also very good students and I know they will be excellent representatives for our university. I am excited to have them as part of our Racer golf family."

Moa Folke – Atividabergs Golf High School – Tanas, Sweden

Moa Folke comes to Murray after an incredibly successful European high school career.

Folke took gold after grabbing the medalist spot at the Skandia Tour Riks-Orebro with scores of 78-80-73 and the Skandia Tour-Halland after carding 76-77-79.

At the Skandia Your-Goteborg and the Ostgota Junior Open, Folke took third place with scores of 79-82-74 and 85-74 respectively.

Anna Moore – University Heights High School – Hopkinsville, Ky.

Named to the 2013 Region Two Team, Region Two runner-up with a score of 75 and the fourth place finisher at All A State with a 79, Anna Moore comes to the Racers after a successful high school career.

Moore took the medalist spot at the Muhlenburg County Invitational, the Hopkins County Central Invitational and the All A Regional with scores of 71, 71 and 75 respectively.

At the KHSAA State Championship, Moore had scores of 77-82=159.

Summer Simmons – Calloway County High School – Murray, Ky.

A cornerstone member of the best golf team in Calloway County High School history, Simmons helped her team to win three Region One Championships and two KHSAA state runner-up titles.

Highlight of Simmon's senior year include scoring a 73 and South Warren Invitational, firing a 74 at the Madison Central Invitational, scoring a 74 at the Paducah Tilghman Invitational and carding a 78 at the First Region Tournament.

Simmons also recorded a 78-78 at the KHSAA State Championship.
