Mooney Nabs First Team All-OVC Honors

Murray State midfielder Julie Mooney has been named to the All-OVC first team for the second time in her career, according to the annual post-season awards released by the league Wednesday evening at the annual OVC soccer banquet.

Mooney led the Racers with seven goals and seven assists on the year. She finished the season with a team-high 74 shots, with 34 of those going on goal. Earlier this season, Mooney earned the second adidas® OVC Offensive Player of the Week honor of her career when she scored a goal and two assists against Alabama A&M and notched the game-winner against UALR.

This is Mooney's second first team honor in her three years as Racer, last accomplishing the feat during her 2011 freshman campaign. For her career, she now has 16 goals, 12 assists, 44 points, 192 shots and 97 shots on goal. She currently ranks second all-time in MSU history in shots, third in shots on goal, sixth in points and seventh in both goals and assists.
