Soccer Taking New Direction In 2014

Director of Athletics Allen Ward announced Monday that Beth Acreman will not return for a ninth season at the helm of Racer Soccer.

"I appreciate all that Beth has done for Murray State women's soccer," said Ward. "She's worked hard and brought us our first two championships. However, after fully evaluating the program, I believe a change at this time will benefit the team and the overall direction I'm looking for."

Acreman finishes her career at Murray State with an overall record of 60-75-17 and 32-31-8 in OVC play. She also guided the Racers to the 2008 OVC regular-season title and the 2009 OVC tournament championship.

"I'm excited about the future of Racer Soccer and the opportunity it has to be among the best in the OVC each and every year," Ward says. "I fully expect our soccer program to consistently be one of the most successful women's sports we have at Murray State."

A national search for Acreman's replacement will begin immediately.
