Feeney Joins Softball Class of 2014

Head coach Kara Amundson has announced that Madison Feeney of Morris, Ill., will become the fifth student-athlete of the Class of 2014 to join Murray State softball next season.
Madison "Maddy" Feeney is a 5-4 outfielder/utility player from Morris Community High School in Illinois. She is a two-time first-team All-Conference selection for the Redskins, as well as a two-time All-Area selection.
She led Morris Community with the highest batting average on the team last season and also posted the second-highest average in the Northern Big 12 Conference. In addition to playing two seasons of softball, she also played two seasons of both basketball and volleyball.
Amundson on Feeney: "Maddy is someone who if you let her get on the bases, she is an immediate scoring threat and the defense is forced to pay attention to her. She has worked really hard on her offensive game over the past few years and it has showed immensely."
Feeney joins Haven Campbell, Erika Downey, Julia Liceaga and Emily Reed in Amundson's class for next season. The latter four signed to play at MSU last month.
