Racers in Second After Day One at OVC Rifle Championships

After the smallbore portion of competition at the OVC Rifle Championships, the Racers stand in second place after day one with 2263 points.
Defending champion Jacksonville State had a strong day in smallbore and leads the event with a score of 2308. The UT Martin men are in third with an aggregate of 2259, Columbus State stands in fourth with 2250, while Morehead State is at 2233 and the UT Martin women ended with a score of 2195.
Kelsey Emme and Bill Harvey led the Racers with scores of 569 each. Michael Burzynski shot just one point behind at 568. Kaitlyn Wilson and Tessa Howald rounded-out the scores for Murray State with 557 and 555, respectively.
“It was a rough day today,” said Head Coach Alan Lollar. “You can't fault the effort, everyone worked hard out there.”
The second day of the championships will feature the air rifle discipline.
