Over the weekend at the NCAA Rifle Championships, the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association named seven Racers to postseason honors.
Kelsey Emme was named Second Team All-American in air rifle. Emme led the Racers this season with an average score of 586.25 in the discipline. Emme opened the season by posting a career-high in air with a score of 592 against UT Martin and Columbus State.
"Kelsey has worked hard to become the best shooter she can be,” said Head Coach Alan Lollar. “It is nice when the hard work pays off and the student-athlete is rewarded."
In addition to Emme, six Racers were honored with the CRCA All-Academic Award. The award is given to those that have achieved 3.0 or higher GPA's during the year. Those honored from Murray State were Hannah Harris, Bill Harvey, Tessa Howald, Ryan Limpus, Kirsten Moyer and Kaitlyn Wilson.
Harvey, Howald, Limpus, Moyer and Wilson all achieved perfect 4.0 GPA's during the fall semester for the Racers.
“This was an outstanding effort and achievement for our student-athletes,” said Kellen Wells-Mangold, Student Services and Compliance Coordinator. “It's really great to see all of their hard work in the classroom pay off.”
