Patrick Newcomb Named OVC Co-Golfer Of The Week

Murray State senior Patrick Newcomb was named the Ohio Valley Conference Co-Golfer of the Week as announced by the league office.
The award marks the fourth time that Newcomb, from Benton, Ky., has won the OVC honor.
He won for the seventh time in his career Monday at the Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn., at the Jackson Country Club. Newcomb had scores of 74-67-71=212 (-4) which netted a six-stroke win. The win marks the second straight season that Newcomb has won the Grover Page title as the Racers took third place in the field of 13 teams.
Newcomb, the reigning OVC Player of the Year, is currently the OVC leader in scoring average at 71.4 which ranks him 13th among players in NCAA D-I.
The Racers' next event is the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Boca Raton, Fla. (March 16-18) at the Mission Inn Resort - Las Colinas Course in an event hosted by George Mason.
Newcomb shared the OVC award this week with Austin Peay's Marco Iten.
