Men's Tennis Drops OVC Opener

The Murray State men's tennis squad dropped its OVC opener on Saturday, falling 6-1 to Morehead State at Bennie Purcell Courts.
Adam Taylor picked up the lone win for the Racers (0-10, 0-1 OVC) in the loss. Taylor won at number two singles over Nathan Martin 6-1 and 6-2. It is Taylor's second consecutive singles victory and third in his last four matches.
Other singles scores in the match saw Joao Camara fall at number one singles 6-4, 6-2. Tyler Jeffers was defeated at number three 6-3, 6-0. Max McLean lost at number four 6-2 and 6-2. While Ryan Kennedy fell at number five 3-6, 6-3 and 10-7 and Aleks Mitric lost at number six 8-2.
In doubles play, the team of Camara and Jeffers lost at number two 8-6. The tandem of McLean and Nicholas Mitric lost at number three doubles 8-1. Taylor and Kennedy's match at number one went unfinished.
Murray State returns to action on Sunday with a match with Eastern Kentucky. Weather permitting the match will begin at 10 a.m. at Bennie Purcell Courts. If the Racers are unable to play outside, they will play at the Kenlake Tennis Center beginning at around 6 p.m.
