Trio of 'Breds Honored With Pepsi Athlete of the Week

A trio of Thoroughbreds were named this week's Murray State Pepsi Athletes of the Week for their performance in the 'Breds' 4-0 week.

Outfielders Taylor Mathews and Ty Stetson, along with catcher Dalton West took home the honors this week. The three helped lead the 'Breds to a sweep of Bowling Green and a 19-2 thumping over Mid-Continent earlier in the week.

Both Mathews and Stetson scored five runs and drove in two RBIs during the week, while Mathews compiled a batting average of .416 and Stetson batted .400 with a pair of doubles. Meanwhile, West led MSU with five RBIs and hit .444 during the week. West also scored two runs and had two doubles.

This week the 'Breds will travel to Kentucky for a mid-week game and will host a three-game series with Canisius over the weekend.
