Howson Leads MSU Golf At Ole Miss Intercollegiate

The Murray State women's golf team finished play at the Ole Miss Rebel Intercollegiate at the Ole Miss Golf Course in Oxford, Miss., on Sunday.
Delaney Howson led MSU with a 46th place finish with rounds of 78-75-74=227, while Alli Weaver took 74th place and carded MSU's best score of the 54-hole event with a 73 to go with scores of 82-79 and a 234 total. Alexandra Lennartsson had a spot in 87th place with scores of 75-87-81=243, while Abbi Stamper had scores of 82-83-80=245 to finish in 89th place. Sophie Hillier was in 96th place with scores of 86-82-84=252.
The Racers were in 18th place with a 944, just behind Memphis (941), Southern Mississippi (930) and Minnesota (920). Coastal Carolina won the Ole Miss event with a score of 863 ahead of runner-up Baylor at 872. Tulane (579), East Tennessee State (881), Kentucky (886), LSU and Mississippi State each at (888) to make up the top seven teams.
Murray State has one more date on the schedule before playing in the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Racers play an 18-hole match with Austin Peay (April 13) at The Links at Novadel in Hopkinsville, Ky. The OVC Championship is set for Greystone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. , April 21-23.
