Three Racers Travel to Louisville Twilight

Sharda Bettis, Alexis Love and Tonia Pratt will be traveling to Louisville Friday for the Louisville Twilight meet. The three athletes will look to secure bids to the NCAA regional meet May 25-27 in Greensboro, N.C.
Bettis will be running in both the 100- and 400-meter hurdles at Louisville. Love will be participating in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while Pratt will go in the discus, hammer throw and shot put.
All three are coming off of strong meets last weekend at the OVC Outdoor Championships. Pratt picked up a pair of titles last weekend in the discus and hammer, and also placed third in the shot put. Pratt's throw of 176'-7” in the hammer set a new OVC record.
Love defended her 100-meter title at the OVCs running a time of 11.73 in the finals. Her time of 11.51 in the prelims set an O'Brien Stadium record. Love placed second in the 200 dash, finishing with a time of 24.36.
Bettis ran the second-fastest time in school history in the 400-meter hurdles last weekend to win the title, Bettis recorded a time of 1:01.01. Bettis also placed third in the 100 hurdles.
Field events will kick off at 10 a.m. from Louisville while events on the track will begin at 4 p.m.
