MSU Athletics Enjoys Day Of Golf At Rolling Hills In Paducah

Members of the Murray State University football, basketball and men's golf coaching staffs were at Paducah's Rolling Hills Country Club Thursday (Aug. 1) for a scramble golf tournament and dinner in Paducah, Ky..

The event is hosted annually just before the return of student-athletes to the Murray State campus by Jim Cash of Paducah. The event is a great time of golf as Racers' coaches and staff meets with MSU fans in the Paducah area.

"We appreciate the hospitality we receive from our friends in Paducah," stated Paul Bubb, associate athletic director. "Kevin Rhinehart and the staff at Rolling Hills do a great job with their course and this is a really fun event for our coaches."
Â
Fifteen teams competed, each with a member of the Racer athletic staff playing as a guest. Teams competed for prizes including Racer game tickets and apparel.

Chris Hatcher, head football coach and Steve Prohm, head men's basketball coach, addressed the group following dinner and spoke about the upcoming seasons as well as the upcoming RACERHOOPALOOZA event. Coach Hatcher is entering his fourth season, while Prohm is in his third season.

Racer Football starts fall camp (Aug. 3) with the home opener coming against Campbellsville College (Sep. 7). The Racers open the 2013 season at Missouri (Aug. 31).
