Howson 5th Place Going Into Final Round At UL Cardinal Cup

Murray State's Delaney Howson was in fifth place and the Racers' women's golf team had a spot in sixth place after the second round at the Cardinal Cup in Simpsonville, Ky., at the Cardinal Club Golf Course.
MSU carded rounds of 303-300=603 and shared sixth place with Middle Tennessee. The Racers were 10 shots ahead of eighth place Memphis (613) and ninth place Illinois State (615). Cincinnati was in fifth place only a shot ahead of MSU.
Howson fired rounds of 70-74=144 and was tied for fifth place with Jordan Britt of Chattanooga and Olivia Rose of Cincinnati. The leader after 36 holes was Louisville's Laura Restrepo at 137.
Murray State's Minta Yin had rounds of 73-74=147 and was in 11th place in the field of 75 players, while Sydney Trimble had scores of 80-74=154 and had a spot in 33rd place. Jackie Van Meter was in 48th place after rounds of 80-78=158 and Sophie Hiller was in 70th place with scores of 85-83=168.
Gina Nuzzo is playing the event as an individual for the Racers and had scores of 87-80=167 and was in 68th place.
Host Louisville was the leader at 567, ahead of Kansas (581) and the Louisville B team (584). Chattanooga was in fourth at 594.
South Florida (619) was in 10th place with Ball State (627), Marshall (645) and Northern Kentucky (649) making up the rest of the field.
The event finishes Tuesday with the final 18 holes at the Cardinal Club.
