Murray State won five of the six singles matches against the Blue Raiders and two doubles matches (third match went unfinished) in the 6-1 victory. Each member of the Racer team won at least one match at singles or doubles.
The Racers took part in the Arkansas State Invitational back in October, so there is some familiarity between the two teams. Andrea Eskauriatza and Eleonore Tchakarova won first and second singles flights respectively and Eskauriatza and Erin Patton won the second flight of the doubles competition.
This is Arkansas State's first dual match of the season. Their last match was at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational Jan. 18-20. The Red Wolves feature junior Tamara Slijepcevic who finished the 2012-13 season 12-4 at first singles and was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Singles Second Team.
The Racers have lost 10 straight matches to the Red Wolves, who own a 13-10 record all time against Murray State. The two teams have recently renewed their rivalry with this being their third match in four years (2013's scheduled match was postponed).
The indoor match will take place at Kenlake State Park, located at 542 Kenlake Road, Hardin, Ky. 42048.Â
