Murray State softball's final doubleheader of the fall, scheduled for Friday at Racer Field, has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances with MSU's opponent for the day, Shawnee CC. Instead, the team will now play in intra-squad scrimmage at 4 p.m., at Racer Field, with the public encouraged to attend.

"While Friday's cancellation is unfortunate, we are going to make the best of it," said head coach Kara Amundson. "We are proud of the progress we have made this fall and we encourage everyone to come out Friday and see for themselves. We feel like we have a great team and are excited about the opportunity to show it off one more time before the spring."

MSU officially end its fall competition with a record of 5-1, including a win over regional rival Southern Illinois. After Friday, Murray State will turn its attention to its season opening tournament, the 8^th Annual Red & Black Showcase hosted by Georgia, Feb. 6-8 at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens. The Racers will officially begin their 2015 campaign on Feb. 6 at 9 a.m. CST, when they open the tournament against the Eagles of Coppin State.
