Haworth Named OVC Goalkeeper Of The Week

Murray State soccer student-athletes Shelby Haworth was named Ohio Valley Conference Goalkeeper of the Week in voting conducted by the league's sports information directors.

Haworth, a freshman from Hilliard, Ohio, minded the net for all 90 minutes of the Racers' 1-0 shutout (Oct. 31) at UT Martin.

Haworth finished the regular season with seven shutouts in 15 starts and her goals-against-average of 0.98 ranked her third in the league and fourth for a single-season at Murray State.

She was also honored as OVC Goalkeeper of the Week Sept. 16 and 30^th.

MSU's win at UTM made the Racers the No. 3 seed at this week's OVC Tournament. The Racers (11-8, 7-3 OVC) meet the Morehead State Eagles in the first round Thursday at 4 p.m. in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at Houck Stadium. MSU looks for their second OVC Tournament title and first since 2009.
