Harris Named OVC Specialist of the Week

Junior running back Pokey Harris has been named as the adidas® OVC Specialist of the Week for Week 11, the conference office announced on Sunday.
The Winchester, Kentucky native became the first player in MSU history and the 11th in the OVC to run a kickoff back the full 100 yards when he did so in Saturday's loss at EIU. He finished the game with 204 all-purpose yards; 149 in returns, 47 rushing and eight receiving.
The touchdown was Harris' second of the season on a kickoff and is now tied with Dre Nelson of Princeton for the national lead. He is currently ranked second in the OVC and 11th in all of FCS with 26.7 yards per kickoff return. He also leads the conference in all-purpose yards and is ranked 15th nationally in the category with 149.2 per game.
Harris and the rest of the Racers will attempt close out their 2014 road slate with a win next Saturday when they travel to No. 15 Eastern Kentucky.
