For the second consecutive week, a member of the Murray State track team has been honored by the OVC for their outstanding achievements. Following LaShea Shaw last week, Tonia Pratt has been selected as the OVC Field Athlete of the Week.

Pratt set a new school record in the weight throw at the Grand Valley State Big Meet in Allendale, Mich. last Saturday. Pratt, who came within 4 inches of the record a few weeks ago, finally eclipsed the mark with a toss of 18.92m (62" 1'). The previous record of 61' 11.5" had been held by Shameka Dial since 2009.

Pratt also competed in the shot put in Allendale, Pratt finished in eighth place in the "elite" group, with a throw of 14.65m (40' .75").

This is the third time in her career Pratt has been honored with this award. She won the award twice last season, April 9^th and 23^rd.

The next time the Racers will take the track will be at the OVC Championships in Nashville, Tenn. Feb. 27-March 1.
