Racers Open Spring Season at Snowman Getaway

The Murray State men's golf team competed in the first and second round of the Snowman Getaway on Monday at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz.
After 36 holes, the Racers carded rounds of 297-295=592 to place 15th in the field of 17 teams.
Preston French led the Racers as he was tied for 34th place with scores of 72-73=145. Jordan Smith was tied for 42nd after firing rounds of 74-72=146. Matt Zakutney carded scores of 72-78=150 for 65th place while Jared Gosser had scores of 80-73-153 for 83rd. Brock Simmons rounded out the Racer scoring with rounds of 79-77=156 for a spot in 92nd place in the field of 100 players.
Air Force was the leader after a strong first round with scores of 276-287=563. Missouri-Kansas City had second place after firing rounds of 285-282=567. William & Mary was third with scores of 284-288=572.
Other team scores include Utah Valley (573), St. John's (574), Illinois State (576), Loyola-Maryland (576), Indiana (577), Gonzaga (577), South Dakota (578), Navy (579), Missouri State (580), Tennessee Tech (585), Utah (588), Connecticut (594) and SIUE (596).
The Racers will return to the course for the third and final round Tuesday morning. Tee times being at 9 a.m. central time with a shotgun start.
