Howson & Racers Lead Time Warner Racer Classic

RESULTS
The Murray State women's golf team holds the top spot after the first round of the Time Warner Racer Classic at the Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Ky.
The Racers lead the field of six teams and 39 competitors with a team score of 300. Delaney Howson fired a strong one-under par 71 to tie for first with Brianna Scheidler of Indianapolis.
Three strokes behind Howson was Jacklyn Van Meter who carded a first round score of 74 to tie for fourth for the Racers while teammate Sydney Trimble, was close behind with a score of 75 for sixth place. Minta Yin fired a first round of 80 while Sophie Hillier rounded out team play with a score of 85.
In individual play, Gina Nuzzo shot a 77 to end the round in 11th place. Abbi Stamper carded 80 to tie for 15th while freshman Leah Rose Judd finished close behind with 81.
Other team scores include: Lipscomb (328), IPFW (334) and Tennessee State (336).
The tournament continues as the second round started around 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Due to impending bad weather, the third round which was scheduled for Sunday morning has been cancelled.
Miller Memorial plays to a par of 72 and 6,017 yards.
