Racers in Florida - Trimble In 5th Place

RESULTS I TEE-TIMESÂ
The Murray State women's golf team competed in the first round of the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational at Julliette Falls Golf Resort in Dunnellon, Florida. The Racers are tied for seventh after day one with a team score of 305 in the field of 16 teams.
Leading the pack, Daytona holds a commanding three-stroke lead over Florida Gulf Coast who carded a team score of 298. North Florida and Houston Baptist University ended the day tied for third with scores of 299.
Freshman Sydney Trimble led the Racers after firing a round of 73 to tie for fifth place. Jacklyn Van Meter took 15th place after firing a round of 75 while Sophie Hillier's 77 landed her in 38th place. Delaney Howson carded a round of 80 for 64th place while Minta Yin swung an 84 for 80th place.
In individual play, Gina Nuzzo ended the round in 51st place with a 79 and Abbi Stamper placed 64th after firing a round of 80.
Other team scores include: Eastern Kentucky (301), Toledo (303), Stetson (305), McNeese State (306), Ohio (306), Akron (308), Morehead (310), Western Kentucky (313), Austin Peay (318) and Nebraska-Omaha (342).
The Julliette Falls Golf Resort is playing to a par of 72 and 6,113 yards.
The women will continue play tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. (7:00 a.m. central time).Â
