Racer Golf Finishes Regular Season

RESULTS
The Murray State men's golf team finished the final round of the TSU Big Blue Intercollegiate this morning at the at the President's Reserve Course at the Hermitage Golf Club in Nashville, Tenn. After 54 holes, the Racers finished the tournament in seventh place in the field of 14 teams with scores of 294-292-307=893.
Fellow OVC competitor UT Martin was able to hold on to its early lead taking the medalist and team honor with a team score of 870. Southern Illinois finished the tournament in second place with a score of 875 while Belmont took third place with a score of 884.
In 16th place, Jared Gosser led the Racers after firing rounds of 72-72-77=221. Jordan Smith took 18th place after carding rounds of 75-71-76=222 while Preston French had scores of 72-75-77=224 for 27th place. Daniel Harper carded rounds of 75-75-77=227 for 38th place and rounding out team play for the Racers was Matt Zakutney who ended the day in 54th place with scores of 80-74-77=231.
In individual play, Duncan McCormick fired rounds of 76-75-74=225 for 31st place while T.J. Ferry had rounds of 73-74-79=226 to take 36th place.
Other team scores include: Missouri St. (885), South Dakota (887), Alabama St. (889), Trevecca Nazarene (901), Tennessee State (904), Christian Brothers (905), John A. Logan (911), Eastern Illinois (917), Morehead State (919) and Creighton (923).
The Big Blue Intercollegiate marks the end of the regular season for the Racers who will enjoy a short break before competing in the OVC Men's Golf Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at the Shoals in Muscle Shoals, Ala. ( April 25-27)
