Becker’s Big Weekend Nets OVC Honor

For the third time in her career and the first time this season, Alexa Becker has been named as the adidas® OVC Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

The Breese, Ill., native helped MSU to a sweep of then OVC-leading SIU Edwardsville by going 4-for-7 at the plate for a .571 average. She finished the week with three runs, four RBIs, two walks, two home runs and went a perfect 3-for-3 on the base paths. The junior finished the doubleheader with a .667 on-base percentage and a whopping 1.429 slugging percentage

In the game one, 10-inning win over the Cougars, Becker went 2-for-3 with two runs, three RBIs, two walks and two home runs. She followed that up with a 2-for-4 performance in game two, to go along with a run and a RBI.

On Wednesday, Murray State will close out it non-conference slate when it travels south to take on Memphis. First pitch in the Bluff City is scheduled for 4 p.m., at the Tiger Softball Complex.
