Soccer Announces 2014 Summer Camp Schedule

Coach Jeremy Groves is pleased to announce his 2014 Murray State summer camp program. Summer programs will be offered for all ages and skill levels. Campers will get the chance to learn soccer "the Murray State way" from the current coaching staff.

Summer Day Camp I & II
Gender & Ages: Boys & Girls Ages 5-13
Location: Murray State University – Crisp Soccer Complex – Murray, Ky.
I: Mon., June 2 – Fri., June 6
II: Mon., July 21 – Fri., July 25
Starts: 9:00 a.m. Ends: 4:00 p.m.
Description: Day camp is catered to all skill levels with the emphasis on improving as an individual player. We will help you develop as a player in the following aspects of the game: passing and receiving, finishing, skill and turning moves, fun soccer related games, agility/footwork and small-sided games.

Night Camp
Gender & Ages: Boys & Girls Ages 5-18
Location: Murray State University – Crisp Soccer Complex – Murray, Ky.
Dates: Mon., June 9 – Fri., June 13
Starts: 6:00 p.m. Ends: 8:30 p.m.
Description: For players that want to learn a move to go past an opponent, the correct technique to striking a ball with different parts of the foot, and how to defend 1v1, 2v2, etc. We will break down the game into different segments each night to improve a player's knowledge, understanding and ability to become a better player.

Summer ID Camp I & II
Gender & Ages: High School Girls 13-18
Location: Murray State University – Crisp Soccer Complex – Murray, Ky.

II: Sat., July 19
Starts: 8:30 a.m. Ends: 4:30 p.m.
Description: The ID Camp is geared towards the serious player who wants to further their career and look to play in college. We will train you in the same environment we train our own players, testing your technical, tactical and metal abilities. We will include an advanced look into strength and conditioning, how to get recruited and the academic requirements and aspect of being a student athlete.

Summer Elite Striker/Goalkeeper Camp
Gender & Ages: Girls 12-18
Location: Murray State University – Crisp Soccer Complex – Murray, Ky.
Dates: Sat., June 28 – Sun., June 29
Starts: 9:00 a.m. Ends: 4:00 p.m.
Description: The Elite Striker/Goalkeeper Camp is a camp that creates all sorts of situations around goal both for the attacking player and the goalkeeper. Goalkeepers will have individualized training to work on footwork, handling, communication and positioning. Strikers will also have individualized training including technique, movement, timing of runs and finishing repartition. This camp will help take the young goalkeeper or striker to the next level of their game.
