Pratt to Represent Murray State at NCAA Regionals

Murray State junior thrower Tonia Pratt's season continues at the NCAA Track and Field East Regional, May 29-31. Pratt will head to the campus of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida, to throw the hammer throw and the shot put.
Already this season, Pratt broke her own school record in the hammer throw. At the OVC Championships, Pratt took home third place in the event with a personal-best throw 57.48m (188' 7"). She is ranked 28th in the eastern division heading into the competition.
Pratt also has the school record in the shot put. She broke that record this year with a career-best throw of 15.01m (49' 3") at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational. Pratt also made the medal stand at the OVC Championships, finishing in second place in the event. She'll head to Jacksonville ranked 44th.
This will be Pratt's first appearance at NCAA's and the third straight year MSU will be represented.
The competition will begin Thursday, May 29. Pratt's first event will be the hammer throw, set to commence at 11 a.m. CDT on the opening day. Pratt will then toss the shot put Saturday, May 31, at 3 p.m. CDT.
Qualifying teams and individuals advance to the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 11-14.
