Practice Day For Racers In Tallhassee

Today was a fact-finding mission for the Racers.
Murray State Women's Golf senior Delaney Howson stepped up to the 10th tee at SouthWood Golf Course in Tallahassee, Florida with the thought of learning a golf course they've never seen before today.
Howson, the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, is here at the NCAA East Regional Golf Tournament as a result of the Racers' OVC team title.
The team arrived late Tuesday and came out to the course to see it. Now the Racers have hit some shots at SouthWood and know what to expect.
MSU Head Coach Velvet Milkman has been an administrator at NCAA women's golf events and has served on the NCAA committee, but being here with her team means more.
The Racers are making their third appearance at the NCAA's for Coach Milkman after playing in Columbus, Ohio and Columbus, Ind., in 2009 and 2010.
The Tallahassee event is three days of 18 holes Wednesday through Saturday. The top eight teams of the 24 advance to the NCAA finals. The Racers, seeded No. 22, have their work cut out for them. The top two individuals not on the eight advancing teams also moves to the finals.
As they did on their practice round, the Racers begin Thursday's first round from the 10th hole. Sophie Hillier will hit the first shot for the Racers at 1:10 p.m. ET. Abbi Stamper has the 1:21 p.m. tee time, with Jacklyn Van Meter starting at 1:32 p.m. Sydney Trimble hits her tee shot at 1:43 p.m. and Delaney Howson at 1:54 p.m.
The Racers are paired with Seton Hall (Big East) and Alabama State (Southwestern Athletic Conference).
