Trimble Leads Racers At Kentucky Open

Six Murray State golfers are playing in the Lexmark Kentucky Women's Open this week in Nicholasville, Ky., at Keene Run Golf Course.
The Kentucky Women's Open features amateurs and professionals competing together in the same event.
Leading the way for MSU was Sydney Trimble who came home with a 78 and had a spot in 10th place in the field of 57 competitors.
MSU's Abbi Stamper was in 19th place after carding an 81, while Gina Nuzzo fired an 84 for a spot in 32nd place. Jacklyn Van Meter was in 35th position with an 85. Other Racer players included Anna Moore in 41st place with an 88 and Leah Rose Judd in 44th place with an 88.
Mallory Blackwelder, a professional, was the first round leader with a 3-under-par 69.
The Keene Run course is playing to a length of 6,245 yards and par-72. The field played round one at the Keene Run course to an average score of 82.7.
The final round of the event is Wednesday morning. Tee times for those from Murray State include: Judd at 7:30 a.m. CT, Moore at 7:40 a.m., Van Meter at 7:50 a.m., Nuzzo at 8:20 a.m., Stamper at 9 a.m. and Trimble at 9:30 a.m.
